media portal hangs (freeze) (1 Viewer)

Hello
I try to install the media portal 0.2.3.0 on a new PC with the following configuration:
ASUS M2A-VM HDMI (AM2) ATI RADEON X1250 VGA HDMI + HDCP HD AUDIO
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 DUAL CORE AM2 4800+ 65W 512KB X2
2 X KINGSTON 1024MB DDR2 667MHZ PC2 5300 CL5 (total 2 GB)
W.D WD3200AAKS 320GB SATA II 7200RPM 16MB BUFFER
Sky Star 2 sat pci
Win XP pro.

When I start the media portal (after configuration)I can control the software for about 30 seconds, then the software just hangs (freeze) , I can use the muse and go to full screen (in\out) (or ALT Enter) then the software will wake up for another 30 seconds.
This is with the default skin.
If I will use Xface, the software will freeze after 10 seconds.

I have the software installed on my laptop as well and it is working with no problems.

Anyone encounter something similar?

Please help.

Net.1.1 + Net2.0 installed?
Directx9 installed?
Latest drivers for your graphic card installed?


when you navigate to you installed Mediaportal directory, you will find a folder called log.

In Situations where the system doesn't work properly, it is always useful to provide as much information about you system as possible and post the log files.

Sorry for not specifying the rest of the information.
It is yes to all of your questions.
It is XP pro sp2
Net 1.1 and 2 are installed
Direct X 9 as well.
And latest driver from ATI.

As the system did not crash (just hangs) I assumed nothing will be in the log file (maybe I’m wrong) I will check the file later and will post it.

I have a freezing problem myself without log errors (so i wouldn't wonder), but only when starting application in MP fullscreen.

problem solved. tnx
downgrading to CCC (of ati) that comes with driver 7.2.
BTW.
downgrading just the driver did not make it.
