Hi all,

Just aquick question to see if anyone else is experiencing the problem of videos just skipping. Media portal runs fine, but at random times during a movie (divx or avi etc) it just skips ahead anywhere from 3 mins to 15 mins. This probably happens 2 or 3 times during a movie.I am running a slowish machine at PIII 733, 700 meg ram and xp. No other programs are running, and the keyboard and mouse dont seeem to be faulty.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem.

thanks in advance,

bigvis

    Hi bigvis!

Never heard of that one. Do you have a DX-9-GFX-Card? If yes, it should work. Then please provide a log (found in MP\log\mediaportal.log) when this happens.

    Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I watched a couple of movies since my post today, and one skipped 3 times, and one only once. I copied the log and here it is attached. The machine is running a 9800 pro card, which im pretty sure is dx9 compatible.

    Thanks again

    Big

We need a .log from when it happened. This log shows only startup & closing of MP. There is nothign in it. So please, when you see the issue, close MP and copy the log.

    Me too

It seems that the problem isn't all the uncommon, since I'm experiencing it as well.

Yeah, I have a Teac wireless keyboard and mouse. It seems that it is in fact the problem.

I noticed this happening recently and after reading this thread realized it was after I added a wireless keyboard/mouse. (I don't use the HTPC often enough to realize what it was)

Is there any way of fixing this? My videos will skip forward and backward. I don't like the idea of having to use a a wired kb because 1)it won't reach the couch 2)wires in the way.
