Media Portal Startup Screen (2 Viewers)

First I'm new here and i have to say that Media Portal is the best frontend for my HTPC! I've tried everything, but nothing is as good as Media Portal. Even Microsoft Media Center 2005 isn't as good as the current version (OK mce has nice rendering effects, but with time i think Media Portal with get this effects too)

The only thing i think is rubbish, is the ugly 16 color startup screen. There must be a way to replace it. I read in the forum about a patch which can use the mplogo file; but i can't find this patch :(

Hope there is a way without changing the source code.

great idea

now i really have a great idea:

Why not make the splash screen an external file or a resource file which can be editet via resource hacker?

Wouldn't that be easier for people to skin the splash screen?

Yes i now, i read several threads about startup screen suggestion, but they were all ignored.

Perhaps i will compile my own version with a custom startup screen, but i really suggest to make the splash screen skinable. Best would be if the splash screnn would be optional, but i don't know how to do that. perhaps we can do an animated gif...

I (well, the wife) needs a splash skin. If a proggie doesn't show progress while loading, she flips out and thinks windows/program stopped responding. Skin it, make an option to remove it, but don't do away with it entirely.

current active programmers won't work on this.
There are enough "important" things to do.

its too bad that developpers do not listen to end-users. This is, however, problem of not only MP.
