its too bad that developpers do not listen to end-users.

Whoaaaa. Its not that they aren't listening to you. This would be a fairly easy option to add. Its that they don't want to add this functionality. If you read the rest of this thread, and all the other ones about this, you'd know why. Please have a bit of respect.

mpattonm surely knows what it's all about as there are more threads about the same stuff with the splash. He can compile his own version, but does not listen to the other posts. He prefers telling everyone how evil programmers are.... :twisted:

This is like the zillionth topic about the splash screen. Let the programmers have SOME note of recognition for the software. The splash screen is the only time the word "Media Portal" shows up. Frankly, the logo itself is nice. I changed my bootscreen, background with the MP logo and it looks seamless. Remember folks, this software is OPEN SOURCE. You can download the CVS and twiddle with the code. But have some respect for the programmers.

I can't understand all the discussions for removing the splash screen. A splash is better than only looking at a moving mouse pointer. Also the splash screen shows you some infomation what happens at the moment (loading fonts... and so on).

So don't make the splash screen optional.

My idea would be to make the splash screen skinable.

But it is no problem if this is not done, because I prefer that the developers are working on more important things... and btw thanks for that great work...
