Ok heres an update on my problems!

Ive run media portal windowed and just get a white blank window with file wizard etc at the top, cant do anything but exit.
I thought this might be to do with vista aero hogging the GPU memory, so have tried to run media portal without the aero package on, this resulted in the same window becoming see through and my CPU usage jammed on 100 percent.

Any ideas?!

Thanks again

Dan

I have no idea if this will help, but I've seen this behaviour when I ran MP having uninstalled my video drivers. I'd check to make sure you have everything properly installed. As I understand it, when you are running MP fullscreen it is actually there, but unable to render anything to screen. Pressing Alt-F4 to close MP should get you back control of the desktop.

Hi nfox,

thanks for the reply!

Yeh it seems not to be able to render anything, i have no idea why, my GPU is fully up to date with drivers..
Maybe its a memory issue.. How much video Ram does media portal need? i mean is 128 MB enough?!

Thanks again
Dan

I have the exact same problem.
As you Im using:
6600GT
Vista business 32bit

Haven't had mediaportal installed before, downloaded V1.0 yesterday.
Completely white screen in windowed mode, nothing in fullscreen.

The error.log keeps giving me:
:Error in the application. -2005532292 (D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY)

Is mediaportal really taking that much gpu-memory?

I have this same problem but the language in the computer's control panel is English (United States). Is there something else I should be checking for?
