Media Server + Client? (1 Viewer)

I've just ordered a Floppy DTV card to insert in my "server" in the closet. I thought that I would install Windows Media Center on the "server" and then Windows Media Center on the client computer in my living room but I now read that the Windows Media Center can't act as an Extender.

Is there anyway I could use Media Portal to get what I want? A server with the FloppyDTV card and use my client to control the TV-card, view live, record tv, pause tv.
