TV Server is responsible for setting the wake times. Did you change the account which TV Server is using? Note that TV Server usually runs as a system user...

I did not change the account which TV Server is using. Can you explain how to do this?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim, I've looked back through your log files (which run back to 16 September), and I don't see any evidence of the problem you've described.

The first scheduled recording I see is "NFL Football", scheduled to start on 17 September at 8:18 PM. TV Server seems to wake fine for that time. However, none of your tuners are available, so the recording fails:

The exact same thing seems to happen for all other recordings that I can see.

Obviously when recordings aren't performed it may appear like TV Server never woke up. However, that doesn't appear to be what is happening.

    Have I missed something?
Are you able to give a specific example - date and/or time - when you think TV Server failed to wake?

Ah ha! Thank you so much! I now see that my Ceton Tv Tuner card is not initializing after the PC wakes from sleep mode. I have to manually stop the TV Service (Server) and re- start it to get the tuner card working.

mm1352000, I see you posted a patch back on January 18, 2014 that may fix my problem. Do you think this might help me, or has it already been incorporated into MP 1.12?

Are you talking about this patch?

You should install that patch, but I don't think it will help you with this problem.

What may help is to tick the "reinitialize TV controller on wakeup" option in the TV Server PowerScheduler plugin. Click "-> Expert Mode" and go to the "advanced" tab. You'll see the setting there.

Thank you so much, mm1352000. Ticking "reinitialize TV controller on wakeup" option in the TV Server PowerScheduler plugin did the trick. My PC will now wake from sleep and record programs!

My new problem is that the PC will not go back to sleep. PowerScheduler shows "Standby prevented by: [DRIVER]\FileSystem\srvnet"

I had this Standby prevented error last week, switching windows powerplan to low then back to high performance did the trick for some reason. Although i did this before hand :
    powercfg -requestsoverride driver \FileSystem\srvnet

I have the same problem using windows 10. I have a dual boot pc with win 7 and that works fine. It seems that the win7 machine's task scheduler runs a task 'OutOfSleep-5d' which I beleive does the waking.
I've checked with powercfg and the wake timer does get set. A quick look at the application event log points to missing dll.
I attach the zip log file created by watchdog..
I kept my original copy of win7 by creating an image of it, but still prefer to migrate completely to win 10.
I would very much any pointers please.

    Hello and welcome @skipterry

I have the same problem using windows 10.
As it turns out, everybody who has posted in this thread so far has had a different problem with similar symptoms. So I assume when you say this you mean that you think your Windows 10 installation is not waking to record.

A quick look at the application event log points to missing dll.
I'm not sure what you're looking at, but the errors I see in the application event log appears to have nothing to do with MediaPortal and everything to do with Skype. As such, I doubt it they are relevant.

I attach the zip log file created by watchdog.
Okay... but this by itself is not sufficient to help you. Please tell us:
    • When did you put the system to sleep?
    • When do you think the system was meant to wake?
    • What was the name, channel and start time of the program that was meant to record?
    Regards,
    mm
