After selecting the language and architecture of the operating system of the PC you want to install MediaPortal on, a list including all necessary components will be presented to you.

Not sure why. Maybe one of the devs can clarify.

ah. I always download first then install. saves me having to redownload components if I mess up an install ;P

Still weird, if MP is only 32 bit. Perhaps it's asking 32 or 64 bit system? 64 bit is selected by default for me, but if MP is 32 bit, why ask at all?

I can't find a tag for this release in the git repository yet. Start up troubles with git or am I overlooking something?

Rename "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal_backup" -> "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal"

Try and start MP.

That's brilliant. I can't think of an easier fix.

Maybe the installer in the future could pop up a message "are you sure you want a clean installation?" before installation commences so careless users (been there, done that = cold sweat) don't have to freak out?

Everyone already running this great new release, please remember to update your System Specs on your forum profile.
For example
MLH01 running MP 1.1.3
2BitSculptor running MP 1.2 Final
Robbo100 running MP 1.1.2 (although you did not explicitly say that you installed it yet...)
Collective running MP 1.2.1 (if you progressed passed the download in the mean time...)

Maybe you have to deactivate yrWeather plugin?

I can't do it as everytime I start MP config. I get a message saying MP is no longer working !!!!

PLEASE follow the forum guidelines and POST YOUR LOG FILES in your OWN NEW SUPPORT THREAD.
This thread is not for solving everyone's problems.
With your log files, I am sure someone will pick up your problem.

Upgraded from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 without any errors.
Only the default language must be manually set to German (for me).
