I gave it a try yesterday and today i say : WOW!

For me the most impressive thing is the enhancement in Codec / BlueRay, the LAV filters/splitter is AMAZING. I tried several BluRays and all of them worked just fine. In The past i had a lot of trouble with that and made me sad. ;)

So im looking forward to the final release and the clean setup i will do for this! ;)

GREAT RELEASE, for me the biggest steps in a long time!

Will not install on existing 1.2.3 set up - TV server clash in versions for me.

So, total wipe & re-install - perfect, no problems.

TV Server is separate on MP1.2.3 - did not expect TV service to work but it does - some delay while it worked things out, but within 30 seconds, it as up & running. No colour on guide, but that's TV server end still being on 1.2.3.

Installed PureVision 5.2 and broke config (missing DLL which Catavolt has already sorted), install that and 5.2 up & running - slick & smooth.

Also installed MP TV Series & Moving Pictures (in both cased, copied my backup databases & skin files into place) - both plugins 100% so far in 5.2 and Default Wide.

Added World Weather (imported existing .xml) and again - 100%

Only hiccup I found (very minor - not really a bug) is cover flow in MP TV Series in Default Wide does not show cover at this time.

From my view, given it's early days, as a Alpha this beats most late Beta's I've seen - brilliant job all round.

Now, just need Frames to work.............

Which version did you use (link if you have one please) as after upgrading (from 1.2.3 GIT, so not officially supported) it shows World Weather as an incompatible plugin and I don't see one to download in MPEI?

    Hi

I've 0.5.6.0 installed - it's same version I used in 1.2.3 on this box and use on my main box - installed via MPEInstaller no problem.

    Cheers - J.[DOUBLEPOST=1342007321][/DOUBLEPOST]

Frames seems to be MP 1.3.0 Alpha compatible: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...x-v1-2-6-09-04-2012.91394/page-13#post-881029

Yep - I spotted it seconds after sending this - installed, checked & good:)

    Cheers - J.

Ah thanks, I only had 0.5.0.0 installed.

I can't get it to show in MPEI though, even if I untick "Only show stable" "Only show compatible" and manually update the online info, so I've manually installed it and it's fine now :)[DOUBLEPOST=1342009224][/DOUBLEPOST]

Not for me it's not. Can't get it to show World Weather at all

To be fully accurate (which I shoulld have been), I installed via MPEI but as a local extension (I down load and then install, makes recovery if {when} I cock it all up much faster on a slow slow ADSL line).

However, a full update of Known Extensions certainly lists it for me, as Catavolt say's, seems odd you can't see it.

Please to know you got it installed & working however.

Can I ask what version of MediaInfo.dll is supplied with 1.3A and recommended? It's just that some plugins (mvCentral for one) say that there's issues with the one supplied (but they're referring to MP1.2) and offer to install another version, but I don't know if this version could cause issues with 1.3A and it's easy to accidentally install it (I may have already done so myself, I currently have 0.7.53.0 installed).[DOUBLEPOST=1342010032][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks. I tried doing "Clean Installation Cache" and then "Download Online Update Info" again but it's still not listed.

Anyway, as I said I've not followed a supported upgrade path so I don't expect anyone to investigate this.

I wouldn't try unsupported plugins. What is the purpose of this? When you try plugins which are released for the version you can test everything which better testing results.
There is no real benefit if you test thing which shouldn't work by definition.
