Initially your MediaPortal.xml file (the main MediaPortal configuration file) was borked. 45 kB of NULL bytes. Hence this:
    "14-11-13 11:07:53 PM";"Windows Error Reporting";"(0)";"Information";"Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: CLR20r3 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: mediaportal.exe P2: 1.4.0.0 P3: 51becb72 P4: System.Xml P5: 2.0.0.0 P6: 4ca2ba8e P7: 6c1 P8: 27 P9: System.Xml.XmlException P10: Attached files: These files may be available here: C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_mediaportal.exe_3ac219a21ddebf40ac63d723575a87435513c432_0d2d901e Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 78e8089c-4d81-11e3-8232-b8975a34998f Report Status: 0";"1001"

All your MediaPortal logs are empty too. Something really bad must have happened. An unexpected power loss or something.

Interesting thanks mm. I'm not sure what happened to this client - don't believe there was a unexpected power loss. I've never experienced such a serious breakdown with MP in two years of glorious use. Be nice to get to the bottom of issue.

Will post logs as soon as am next at home. Note that the server and other two clients carried on functioning fine.

logs attached, any tips greatly appreciated

I've just powered on the computer from stand by, then started MP, went straight to TV and tried to turn the TV on - no results. It doesnt crash as I can just press back navigate around fine (16.21 logs)[DOUBLEPOST=1384707810][/DOUBLEPOST]Interestingly - re-installed MP TV Engine and now MP in not starting up again displaying the CLR20r3 error (16.58 logs)

I seem to have resolved this with an advanced re-installation, difference here was that I downloaded the client version of MP.

Bit irritating to have to re-configure all my settings but ho hum.

Looks like your client-side gentle.config file was also borked, leading to failure to connect to the TV Server database. Could have been fixed with a simple file replacement.
