Hello, I am using Media Portal 2.1 but there are no subtitles on television programs.
Are a new user and have not used the mediaportal before, is it something that must be
installed in order to be able to see the subtitles? When I open the menu for the subtitles
while a live tv program is playing, i just see an empty box.
I use Lav decoder for audio and video. I think it's dvb text to the programs,
my tv provider is Boxer in Sweden.

    Hi,
I suppose those are teletext subtitles, which is the last kind of subtitles which is not yet supported by MP2. All other types should be working.
Are you able to tell which kind of subtitles you are trying to enable?

I'm not sure what format it is. How do I check what format it is?
Is it possible to record programs and watch with another player and see the subtitles?

Channels without subtitles, BBC Brit, National Geographic Hd, History and Viasat Explore are some.
Which player would work with subtitles?

I forgot to ask if it will be support for the type of subtitles soon in mediaportal 2?
Is anyone working on it now, or will it take a year or more?

For teletext subs I can recommend MP1 ;)

We have lately worked on subtitles in MP2 and teletext subs is the last missing subs type. I can't say how long it will take, but I don't think it will take a year :)

Sounds great that it is included in the plans at least. For me teletext subs is the must have feature before I can upgrade to mp2, but I understand that there are other things to do as well.
