    I uninstalled and cleaned up an MP1 and MP2 install. Then reinstalled the new MP2 and configured the 3.0 TV server.

    At the moment I'm stuck on importing Video sources which are on a Windows network drive. However, I cannot expand the shared folders, i.e. I only see the computer name.

    I tried to enter network credentials but the Apollo skin didn't provide the userid/password fields to enter. I switched skins to resolve it

    Also, which MPExtended should I use? Any special instructions for the Win 8.1 IIS install?

    Great effort, thanks!

    This is a small visibility issue with the skin, you are right. In others you see clearer controls.

    This is not needed at all! This release contains everything you need. As TV support is now inbuilt into MP2-Server, you can use MP2-Client only to use TV. No additional components need to be installed :)

    Well, for now no MPExtended then.

    But no matter, I love the improved MP2 and I will stick with it! The developers' focus needs to shift to MP2. It is a far superior architecture.

    TV works fine though the Multi TV Guide doesn't display time well across the top (Apollo, etc.). The Titanium skin TV Guide doesn't handle HighRes displays (2560*1440) well:

    As I have VMWare Player and Virtual Box installed, I needed to enter the primary IP address of the client and server in bindings as MP2 doesn't know which network interface to use (Settings/General/Connectivity).

    In absence of MPExtended I hope to get the MediaServer plugin to work as I have several DLNA client devices.

    Again, thanks to the developers for an impressive and now very usable product.

    I started to attempt to get the March '15 MediaServer plugin to work.

    It appears that the plugin.xml is out of date with the new API.

    Old:
    Code:
    <Plugin
        DescriptorVersion="1.0"
        Name="MediaServer"
        PluginId="{45F2C54D-8C0A-4736-AA04-E6F91CD45457}"
        Author="Jason Leonard (McGoober)"
        Copyright="GPL"
        Description="DLNA MediaServer support plugin"
        AutoActivate="true"
        PluginVersion="1.04">
    ...

    New:
    Code:
    <Plugin
        DescriptorVersion="1.0"
        Name="MediaServer"
        PluginId="{45F2C54D-8C0A-4736-AA04-E6F91CD45457}"
        Author="Jason Leonard (McGoober)"
        Copyright="GPL"
        AutoActivate="true"
        Description="DLNA MediaServer support plugin">

      <Version
        PluginVersion="1.04"
        ReleaseDate="2015-03-08 01:00:00 GMT+01:00"
        CurrentAPI="1"/>
    ...

    This change allowed me to get beyond the initial plugin error. However, I may be facing a path error now as HttpServer wasn't found.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Here is an archive of the server log files.

    Hi.
    I started to attempt to get the March '15 MediaServer plugin to work.
    This is one of a few plugins that don't work with the new release. MediaServer Plugin wasn't ready, but it now did not work at all. Similar to TVWishlist plugin that also needs a complete overwork before it's working again.

    It appears that the plugin.xml is out of date with the new API.
    That would be easy to fix. I did this for a lot of plugins already. And also for MediaServer. Sadly in this case this is not enough to make the plugin work. So you need to be patient and wait for a new version.

    Thank you both for your work and help.

    I was simply excited to finally have MP work with DLNA devices even with some flaws. I'll be patient.

    Hi.
    finally have MP work with DLNA devices
    Me too, I'm really waiting for this to finally get rid of Serviio. But this will not be available as fast as wished, I fear. The author of this plugin recently is involved in the development of a really important basic- rework that is essential for most parts of MP2. This rework has much higher priority for nearly all and everything, I think...
    In meantime I'm playing with the UPnP Renderer Plugin to make MP2- Client a full blown DLNA Renderer. This plugin is working excerpt for some missing features. Start, Stop, Play, Pause is working, but FF and RW are missing jet.

    I'm also running Serviio and just like you, I'd really like to get rid of it.

    Your experiment with the UPnP renderer plugin for the MP2-Client is quite interesting. Is it your aim that the MP2-Client becomes a universal media client? A working client plugin might allow the MP2 server to become a generalized media converter/hub.

    I'm only testing this, I'm not the dev of the UPnP Renderer plugin.But yes, if you install the UPnP Renderer plugin the MP2 Client is a DLNA media client. Together with the upcoming Server plugin MP2 can be completely controlled by eg. BubbleUPnP on your Tablet where MP2-Server is the Media Server and any MP2 client can be the Renderer.But you also can use a Smart-TV as renderer and MP2 as server then or a NAS with MiniDLNA running as Server and MP2 Client running as renderer, and so on...

    Edit:
    If you want to test, I've attached the latest version of the UPnP Renderer. It is possible that you need to run the installer as admin, if the installation did not work instantly. Keep in mind this is a test version, not a finished product.
