have you tried MPstandbyhandler, and restart tvservice on resume? Maybe also restart the Tv Cards.
This should definately help.

Thanks for the idea but I don't see why restarting tvservice on my problem would help. TVService seems to work just fine, waking up for recording, do the job and go to sleep again...and wake again when needed. Problem is Mediaportal client which on my standalone setup sometimes won't wake up again when I manually (using remote) start my machine. With blank screen I ment that when I start my machine Mediaportal client won't init it's interface and screen remains black. If I with my keyboard do alt-tab or ctrl-esc I can see freezed version of MP...even clock is freezed to some old time.

Just wondering if this is normal behaviour of RC4 and released 1.0 version and I'll really have to use same extra tools (my own or for example MPStandbyHandler) to look after processes and restarting those every time...sounds a little odd, but if that is the only way to get this work then I'll have to try that.

Man, have I had all sorts of problems with standby/resume. In the end, I knocked up a small .Net app which monitors the power events on the PC, and runs code (which is in separate script files) to do various things - like close MP client when going to standby, and restart when resuming.

However, sometimes (particularly on automatic resume for recordings and EPG-grabbing), even this app doesn't seem to get notified of a "resume" event, so the MP client doesn't actually start up. This really didn't use to happen in the past, so I can only assume that there's been some Windows update that I've applied that's buggered things up. For me, the MPStandbyHandler wouldn't recognise standby or resume at any time - so it wasn't much help.

Anyhow, TV-Service still works fine in terms of putting the PC to sleep and waking it up when needed, so I can handle having to manually start MP client every now and again, if it doesn't happen automatically (I have a button programmed on my remote to start the MP client).

I've come to the conclusion that looking at other people's posts about standby/resume to find an actual solution to your problem is probably not going to happen - everybody has slightly different things happening, which are obviously quirks due to different hardware and OS versions/patches, etc. The best you can hope for is something that gives you a bit of a pointer to what the problem might be and hopefully you can work it out from there.

Cheers,
Craig

...you can also setup mpstandbyhandler to restart Mp client on resume...

Yep...I have that now under testing. So far seems good, but we will see. :) I had plain MP version working several days without problems...heh. I'll keep my thumbs up. If this standbyhandler works for many people I would personally like to see similar functionality future in MP watchdog packed with core.

I agree. Something weird has been happened for many old MediaPortal users mostly propably with same hardware than previous versions. I personally changed platform (hardware + XP -> Vista) between RC3 and RC4 so can't 100% say that these symptoms are MediaPortal's problem. Currently have Fujitsu Scaleon Evi 2535 with Vista 32 SP1.

And thanks to everyone who have throwed ideas to find solutions on this thread and other threads. I think solution to this will be found for many...I hope atleast.
