As my Asus Xonar D1 does not work correctly (WASAPI exclusive mode), I either have to wait for an updated driver and response form Asus developers or think about another audio card.

What are current recommendations (I need a PCI card)? Creative, Auzentech, ...?

    hi,
have you tried this customs drivers for the xonar series ASUS XONAR Unified Drivers 1.11 & ASIO 1.0 patch (post periodically updated) brainbit | Unified Xonar Drivers

After the Daniel K and Creative drivers fiasco everybody jumped the Asus boat, including myself. All I can say is that we jumped onto the WRONG BOAT!

    INTRODUCTION

After 2 years of waiting for a proper driver from ASUS, I decided to take the matters in my own hands and make the fixes myself. I’m talking mostly about the 5.1 stereo upmix issue & an up to date driver for my Xonar DX. It should work for everyone else, but I can’t guarantee it, so please submit your feedback (good or bad) via comments or by e-mail() . Also I made a unified driver so everyone can update to the last driver version. No more waiting 6 months+ (Ds,D2,D2X owners) and all that for a broken driver. Personally I don’t know what those monkey coders at Asus and C-Media are doing. Maybe someone should ratio their bananas.

The 5.1 stereo upmix issue was created by Asus Dev Team, the C-Media Devs did it right with original drivers. But C-Media is not innocent, besides being always too late to the party, DPC latency sky rocks when using any of they’re poor coded audio functions(see fixes for Uni Xonar low DPC latency driver)

BTW: ASUS execs if you are reading these please contact me for my payment!

My advice? Meanwhile use Reclock. When Asus fix their drivers back to Mp audio renderer that will be perfect.

version 12 - based on SVN revision 26348

    Minor fix release.

    • Refactored A/V sync / sample scheduling - hopefully this will sort out few A/V sync related issues, for example the one that Xonar has with big buffers
    • Fixed sample handling with the time strecthing disabled - madFlac was not working at all. ffdshow could have lots of dropped audio data.
    • Fixed format negotiation when EnableTimestretching was set to disabled
    • Added logging for device reported latency.

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/637138-post3.html

Attach log. Seems work fine. This time I keep my ffdshow setting for Reclock (-15 Ms) .
The lipsynch is the same than Reclock. Of course I use the WASAPIUseEventMode value at 0 as usual.

My advice would be the opposite :p Keep the Xonar in use and set WASAPIUseEventMode to 0. This way the MP audio renderer can be improved further based on the feedback (ReClock is as well using the polling so there wont be any difference in that way - of course in general ReClock is much more mature).

Could you check if the A/V sync is ok as well with the 250 / 500 ms WASAPI buffers? 5 ms buffer is not big wnough to create wrong A/V sync even when the code would be buggy.

I tried change to 5000000 (500 Ms). No difference. Something seems changed in the code :D

edit: I play new MP audio renderer in the real world for the first time watching Nikita new tv series episode 2 web-dl version :D Perfect play , smooth as usual. A question: the sound was fine. what level you choose to set for Sound Touch library. With the reclock is set the middle one (Good sinc interpolation) for me a good balance for quality and cpu load.
