OpenSource is clearly the winner in this situation cause everyone can check about the truth. GBPVR users have to trust one guy they know nothing about.

The reply i got was simply rude, inpolite, blaming me and MediaPortal etc. etc.
They also removed the thread on their forums !

I would simply ignore them at this point. Your reasoning and examples are more than concise. If I were you, I wouldn't even bother changing the merit value and leave it as MERIT_NORMAL. Let them solve their own problem - A problem you've been more than helpful on solving for them. :?
