Hi -
After Mediaportal suspended and resumed a couple ot times, e.g. for recording, it seems like Mediaportal crashes when going to suspend state. The last lines I usually see in the MediaPortal logfile are the following:
2008-12-08 01:56:45.437500 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows has resumed from standby or hibernate mode to handle a requested event
2008-12-08 01:56:45.437500 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: OnResumeAutomatic - Starting recorder
2008-12-08 01:56:45.437500 [Info.][MPMain]: TvCardCollection: TVPlugin detected -> no TVE2 card setup
2008-12-08 01:56:45.453125 [Info.][CommandProcessor]: Commandprocessor: Starting
2008-12-08 01:56:45.453125 [Info.][MPMain]: Recorder: start
2008-12-08 01:56:45.515625 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: OnResumeAutomatic - Done
2008-12-08 01:59:15.234375 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: WM_POWERBROADCAST: 0
2008-12-08 01:59:15.234375 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows is requesting hibernate mode - UI bit: 0
2008-12-08 01:59:15.375000 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: WM_POWERBROADCAST: 2
2008-12-08 01:59:15.375000 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows is denied to go to suspended mode
2008-12-08 02:27:15.203125 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: WM_POWERBROADCAST: 0
2008-12-08 02:27:15.203125 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows is requesting hibernate mode - UI bit: 0
2008-12-08 02:27:15.390625 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: WM_POWERBROADCAST: 4
2008-12-08 02:27:15.390625 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows is suspending
"Windows is suspending" is the last line seen in the log - when resuming manually from standby I only get a black screen until I kill MediaPortal.
It looks to me that MediaPortal crashed since usually I see a "full suspend sequence" in the logs like for example:
008-12-08 01:30:05.328125 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Windows is suspending
2008-12-08 01:30:05.343750 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Stopping playback
2008-12-08 01:30:05.343750 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Stopping recorder
2008-12-08 01:30:05.343750 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: Stopping AutoPlay
2008-12-08 01:30:05.343750 [Info.][MPMain]: Main: OnSuspend - Done
TvServer doesn't seem to be aware of the last suspend request. At the time Windwos is suspending according to the MediaPortal log the TvServer log is silent:
008-12-08 02:25:13.609375 [20]: card: StopRecording 1

I configured the Powerscheduler TvServer and Client Plugin to suspend after 5 minutes Idle time (only in home screen, don't force shutdown).
Can somebody give me hint what is going on there? Which process is causing the "WM_POWERBROADCAST" and "Windows is requesting hibernate mode - UI bit: 0" lines? I am not aware of any other process that might want to force Windows to suspend mode. But even if some other process did, Mediaportal should suspend properly anyway...
Thank you very much for any help!
Cheers,
nino
