I'm after new logs from MP 1.2.0. Obviously the behaviour is different under 1.2.0 so it is useful to check the logs again to compare for differences. To be honest I still suspect there is a problem with something video card related. Maybe driver. Maybe DirectX. Not sure at this point but I hope the logs will reveal something.

Logs attached of 1.2.0 playing video...
You know more about these things than i do - but a GFX driver/directx bug that causes problems in MP 1.2.1 but not 1.2.0??? Isn't that a 1.2.1 bug???

Maybe I am wrong - I've definitely been wrong many times before!
So comparing the logs, the differences I see are:
1. Codecs
In MP 1.2.0 you're using the "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)" for video and the "MPC - MPA Decoder Filter" for audio.
In MP 1.2.1 you're using the "ffdshow Video Decoder" for video and the "LAV Audio Decoder" for audio.
2. ViewModeSwitcher
ViewModeSwitcher is enabled in MP 1.2.1 but not in MP 1.2.0.
I guess both of those things could potentially explain the problem...

Good point - will re-install 1.2.1 and use "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)" + disable ViewModeSwitcher..

Reinstalled MP 1.2.1 using "MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)" + ViewModeSwitcher disabled - and it worked fine. (logs attached: MediaPortalLogs_11_12_11__14_18)
Tried using "ffdshow Video Decoder" for MPEG2 video and the "LAV Audio Decoder" for MPEG2audio - Worked fine. (no logs)
Then tried using Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD11) for video - Worked fine.
Then tried enabling "ViewModeSwitcher" -withour ticking off "show message" - worked ok (artifacts on right side of screen)
Then tried enabling "show message" and the problem re-appears... (logs attached: MediaPortalLogs_11_12_11__14_31)
