Hello everyone. This is my first post here.
I am using Mediaportal about a week.
I got this trouble after playing an mkv or divx video. Returning back to dashboard MP didn't restore 1080i resolution and setting himself to a bigest one. i can't see icons and exit from it. i just have to play another video and pushing back button on remote control to restore resolution.
It happend with the latest and old MP version too and with all skins i tryied.
Any suggest?

Hi, I think I have some of the same problem here... I suspect I know part of the reason, but I'm not entirely sure:

On my setup (MSI Media Live box) that I run in 1920x1080 using HDMI out under Vista, if I go into MediaPortal setup, and then click the "generic" node, I see the following listed under "Screen":

Generic PnP monitor (1280x720) on NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE.

Notice the difference? It thinks I am running in 1280x720, instead of 1920x1080 as I really am. What I found is that is that if you press the "back" button while playing, to get back into the MediaPortal GUI, it sets the resolution correct again, but if I press "stop", it seems to think that the resolution is something else, and draws all the graphics much larger. I did in fact check, and my resolution is set to 1920x1080, but the MediaPortal graphics are rendered much too large.

Interestingly enough, booting in Win XP (I have dual boot), MP displays 1920x1080 under the "Screen" setting, and scales correctly when stopping a video.

Edit 1: Here's some screenshots of it in effect:

Before playing: http://spoox.org/mediaportal/1/before_playing.png
Pressing back: http://spoox.org/mediaportal/1/while_playing.png
Pressing stop: http://spoox.org/mediaportal/1/after_stopping.png

Edit 2: I opened up the before/after pics in Photoshop, and resized the overscaled after image so that it fit with the before image, and guess what... The overscaled image then corresponds to 1280x720 of the original image. I am therefore quite sure that this is what screws up. :)
