I recently noticed my MediaPortal starting to act weird, it started with this issue, which is still unsolved : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/videos_and_dvds_suddenly_dont_play_anymore-t20938.html

The only thing I did recently was upgrading to the February 2007 version of DirectX, this was recommended to me because my TVSeries plugin wasn't functioning.

Now I upgraded the TV Series plugin to today's build (thanks Inker!) and this plugin seems to be working fine now. I only have to rebuild my database cause he doesn't seem to find any episodes, only the series. But if I have any problems with that, i'll report it in the correct place.

When I was just playing with MP I noticed that MediaPortal.exe seems to keep running, even while I've closed MP (the big X at the top right of the BlueTwo skin). I test this 3x (reboot, close MP, watch Processes in Task Manager), and it keeps running. Even more, when I try to close the process, my whole Windows just crashes.

I've attached the log file of a booting MediaPortal and immediately closing it, but I don't seen anything wrong...

MediaPortal Version: Latest Stable, Version 0.2.2.0
MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo Widescreen
Windows Version: XP SP2
CPU Type: Intel P4 2.6
HDD: 160GB Seagate Barracuda
Memory: 512MB
Motherboard: Abit IS7
Video Card: NVidia
Video Card Driver: ForceWare
Sound Card: AudioTrak Prodigy 192
TV Card: not installed at the moment

"Select a remote filter graph to view..."
But it's an empty box, even after pressing the refresh buttons a few times...
And MediaPortal.exe is still running !

Even more, when I open the configuration, it notifies me that MP is still running, asks me if he can close it, I say YES, but when I check task manager again when the configuration is opened, MP.exe is still running!

I found it! It was the BASS engine for audio. I switched back to the internal dshow player, this issue was fixed! This also corrupted my TVseries database by the way...

I have the same problem since I started to use the SVNs over the 0.2.2.0, but I have never used the BASS engine!
I have to kill the MP process with the task manager, but at least is not crashing Windows ;)
How can I check why main the process doesn't stop?
    Thanks.

codemann, would you please run the sessio with loglevel set to Debug and post the log again?

Also a log from archimede and PHN2 would help.

Thats why we need a debug log from it.
to see if it can be fixed :)
