When I quit Mediaportal from the main menu (or just use Alt-F4), a Mediaportal.exe task is still running. When Mediaportal is running, there are 2 processes.. Both belong to the current user.
WIndows 7 x64, Autologon, Autostart of MP1.4. I cannot remember haviong this issue with 1.4pre or before.

Same issue here with 1.5 final (on a client). I am looking through the logs, this does not happen everytime but has happened more than once.
It did not happen with 1.4. I must end process before I can start it again.

Please always provide log files where possible, even when log files have already been provided. The cause of a problem like this may be different even if the symptoms are the same.

    Thanks

I have attached logs from today where MePo was exited by me but it is still running under task manager and wont restart with the green button unless I stop the process manually

    [2013-10-30 13:39:01,754] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - PluginManager: Stopping plugin 'MediaPortal.Plugins.Process.PowerSchedulerClientPlugin'
    [2013-10-30 13:39:01,758] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - PS: Stopping PowerScheduler client plugin...
[2013-10-30 13:39:01,772] [Log ] [MPMain ] [DEBUG] - PS: Unregister handlers with tvservice with tag 24

It looks a lot like the PS plugin is attempting (and failing) to communicate with the TV service.

Are you able to provide full log files using the watchdog...

...so we can see the server side logs?

I have attached the logs, I have also noticed and not sure if related but Mediaportal takes longer to load and is slower to react than when I first installed 1.5. When MP is not running I have noticed mysqld.exe is using CPU and fluctuates up to 20 - 30% CPU when the computer is not completing any tasks

This is just the usual (correct) sequence when the MP client is stopped. No PS problems on client and server found. But: There are lots of plugins activated and I assume that one of them does not terminate its threads when the MP client is closed. So you should first try MP without any plugins (debug mode will disable all plugins) and see if it works then. If yes, you have to enable one plugin after the other to find out the "guilty" one...
