Mediaportal Freeview HD New Zealand not working (1 Viewer)

I tried to register the proppage.dll but I got the following error message "The module proppage.dll was loaded but

the call to Dllregisterserver failed with error code 0x80070005"
I ran graphstudio anyway and I went to file/connect to remote graph when MP was running and I still can't see any

graphs or codec information. For some reason this stuttering problem is getting worse too. Is the TV tuner card I have grunty enough? Should I be thinking of getting another GFX card??

When I watch avi's and other movie files that have been encoed with h.264 i don get any stuttering or lagging problems so does that not mean my GFX card can handle it???
Please forgive my complete lack of knowledge in regards to all of this.

I think you may need to do this from an administrator level command window i.e. right click on the command prompt shortcut and select 'run as administrator'

Most movies are encoded as 'progressive scan' video whereas most TV is 'interlaced' video - this has to be de-interlaced either in software (=extra CPU load) or in hardware (=extra video card load). So HDTV is usually the most taxing form of video to play on a PC.

I ran the regsvr as administrator and that worked but when I run graphstudio with MP open I still get nothing when I try to connect.
Just a side note but on Freeview HD I thought that most of the channels were progressive and only TV3 was interlaced?
Judging by some of the other posts I think it might just be my poxy IGP Nvidia Geforce 7100 that can't hack it so might start looking for a new card.

if it doesn't support dxva then your computer(cpu) is way too slow for Freeview (HDTV)

Kiwijunglist can you recommend a good enough gfx card? I need one that has an HDMI connector too as that is how I connect to my TV. I am assuming that once I have a good enough gfx card it should sort the problem out?

I have an HD4670 and i really like it. it gets good reviews for power useage etc...
I use it with XP, so havn't got any experience with vista.
I think with the video card and the appropriate software setup you should be fine with Freeview HD as long as your system is tweaked properly.
If you check my system specs you can see which video card brand/type i am using.

so do you use that setup to watch Freeview HD??
I might get me one of those cards as they are fairly cheap compared to others I have seen.

yea i do, it's slightly overkill but futureproofed hopefully for MP2
Any medium speced card that does dxva that was released within last 12 month or so should be fine.

If you prefer the other camp, an nVidia 9500GT should also be OK - no HDTV here but mine copes OK with interlaced 1080i AVCHD (H.264) camcorder footage using DXVA.

OK I got myself an HD4670 and installed it. The new card has fixed some of my problems but I now have new ones!!!!
On Freeview HD TV ONE,TV2 and TV3 all seem to be working fine but all of the other channels keep displying a green screen with intermittent pictures. I can hear the audio so has wondering if it is just the codecs I am using??
I have attached an MP log if anybody is keen to look at it and tell me where I am going wrong?
