MediaPortal hangs on "Initializing input devices" (1 Viewer)

I have latest version (1.0) and starting MP freezes either on "Initializing Input Devices" or "Starting plugins". Log is below

I have this problem, too, and I can supply some additional info.

What happens: Under certain circumstances, during MP's startup the step 'initializing input devices' takes oddly long (exactly 2 min as can be seen in the logs). In my case this leads to the problem that my X10-remote (Q-Sonic 6in1) is not recognized. Until now the only solution to reactivate the remote I found is to reboot.

The cirumstances: I did not yet get any clear picture when exactly this happens and when not. After a clean boot MP always works fine. The problem happens typically when I stop MP and then start it up again. However this does not always happen, i.e. sometimes I can stop and start again MP many times without any problem. The probability that it happens is higher when I changed to admin account and then switch back to the MediaPortal account.

It is very annoying to me and I'm surprised that there are only few hits when I search in the forum for this. I have this behaviour since several months, i.e. it is nothing that came in in one of the younger svn's. I even would assume that this is no MP issue but some problem of the X10-driver.

Attaching MP log only - for some reason the log collector currently exits with a exception. Note the 2min gap before timestamp "19:38:15.875000". Probably artisticcheese didn't have the patience to wait the 2 min.

I would be glad for any hint how to encircle the problem.

Same here, startup takes forever.

I know this may sound crasy but I used to have the same issue. I went to windows update and ran all the updates except service pack 3 ..issue went away.

Same here. But if I kill the MediaPortal process with the Task-Manager and restart it, then everything works fine. But that can't be the final solution.

I have exact the same problem! Milagroso described it very well. I've medion x10 remote installed too and it don't work after MP hangs at startup.
Possibly it's a x10 driver problem

Hi there, I have this problem whenever my machine wakes up from sleep. I use a SPEED remote control - sort of MCE remote control compatible. Would be good if there is any solution for this, otherwise the sleep function does not work at all.

Hi,
maybe I have a solution for that problem. After a new installation of my system last week, I searched for a X10-driver without standard keys (Like Windows Button starts Windows Media Center and so on). I downloaded the driver from EventGhost and everything works fine, no more hangs on initializing input devices.

I only tried the x64 version.
