Mediaportal has stopped working... (1 Viewer)

for just over a week (first noticed on Feb 24th) both my Mediaportals get a mediaportal has stopped working
(a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will try etc.) error on startup (during the loading plugins part). rendering my mediaportal's useless.

As it occurred on 2 machines at the same time, without changes to MP or plugins I suspected windows update, but the last updates were from Feb 18th and I would have expected more posts here. So far, I tried reinstalling skin, changing skin, disabling various plugins, restoring mptv and moving picture databases and repairing the MP installation itself. The problem both occurs on first boot or manually restarting, but not always (80%)

It's driving me nuts, any help highly appreciated.

Zotac AD10, CPU details AMD E-350 Processor running at ~1600 MHz and 4Gb
running win7 32 bit sp1
Mediaportal 1.2.1 final
latest versions of \moving pictures 1.3.0, mptv 3.2.1.1928, streamedmp 1.7.6.3093

I had this quite a time ago with an older Version of MP with Win7. I didnt find any related issue, neither in MP nor in Windows. I did solve it by increasing the time in the registry from which windows thinks a program isnt responding anymore. There are plenty of google-hits for this issue. Maybe you can try that, but please make a backup before changing anything in registry (you never know if there are any unwanted results when fiddling with registry).

Guys, I have been experiencing this recently on two clients also. One of them cam good by itself with no intervention from me - whereas the other one is continually locking up at Loading Window Plugins screen. I am on Windows 7 SP1 on both machines and have auto updates turned off - so the last update was 3 months ago.

I am currently running MePo 1.21

I too am running Streamed MP - last updated this two weeks ago (and i think the problems have been more prevalent since that time)

I recently added the new Weather plugin to my systems - i might disable that and see if it makes any difference.

If i RDP into my machines i get an unresponsive console session - i can bring up Task manager etc but nothing responds to kill apps etc - it is almost like something is locking the windows screen update process - but i can shutdown/.restart OK

In my case, loading windows plugin takes most time. Most of the hits I got on that are around TV server which I do not use. tried playing around with the application timeout settings, but the settings mostly recommended are no longer in the registry.

I could fix my situation by creating new databases for both MPTV and Moving pictures. Especially the latter one was quite old due to the extensive filters I setup. Size went down to 60% (a compacting tool would be nice too ) and the error does not reappear. Still waiting mostly on loading windows plugin.

imdb+ seems to be throwing out errors, might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling and reconfiguring.
