Mediaportal how to setup hauppage 35 button? (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody..

I tried Mediaportal about a year ago.. but ik wouldnt work op my slow pc.
Now i have a new pc with windows 7 and i installed mediaportal. Everything works accept the 35butten remote of Hauppage.
The remote automaticly starts windows mediacenter and works perfectly there.

I tried to learn every button in de configuration settings... it learns but sets the value to 0000 every time.


i uninstalled wintv+drivers and mediaportal to start completely over with your guys help. (i hope!)

So.. can anybody help me figer out how to get it to work

Do i start with installing wintv + drivers.. or do i start with installing mediaportal?

Did you check the box "Use Hauppauge Remote" under the remote section in MP config?

Yes i did... The problem is that the is no configuration for a 35 butten remote. (DSR-0112 is the type of the remote)..
The "bigger"problem is guess is that the remote starts Windows Mediacenter when i hit the power button.

I dont know how to configure the settings of the remote for wich program it may use, or say in other words.. i dont have any idea where to start.

Its the go button that should start MP, I wouldn't install the winTV software just the drivers and IR32.exe

You may also want to stay away from the latest drivers and IR32.

here is what i did... uninstalled everthing.
1 Installed drivers from hauppage cd. Result: No ir transmitting availeble in Mediaportal settings.
2 Open ir32.exe from cd. Result: Power button opens Windows mediacenter again..
3 Closed ir32.exe Result: Power button does nothing, Transmitting ir availeble in Mediaportal setting, but stil when i trie to "learn" every button gives 0000 as value
4 Opend Mediaportal, pushing buttons op 35 button remote makes sound in mediaportal but doesnt do anything accept highlighting availeble options.

So.. im on the right track.. maybe need to configure buttons differently? ( but how?!)

But its an oldy... and really.. it doenst make sence to me.

I use the hauppauge 45 button remote, that works well in mediaportal

Did you select the hauppauge 35 button remote, in the drop box at the bottom in mediaportal configuration

1 open mediaportal configuration
2 click remote
3 select hauppauge
4 check the box (use hauppauge remote)
5 click lean
6 in the drop box (remote control type) select the (hauppauge 35 button remote)
7 click apply ok ,ok

Here is the ir32 exe i use , hope this works for you

I understand that i need to pick the right one in the configuration... But there is no such choise of a 35button... only the 34 or 45 button(i used the 45 last year.. that worked fine indeed)

Stil the problem is... where can i change the ir.exe settings(i think).. cause it stil opens windows mediacenter instead of mediaportal..

Also i dont understand that áll my buttons give a 0000 value when i klick "learn"

Thankd for youre ir32 exe though, ill give it a try (but dont think this wil solve the problem)

Then you have not disabled this in the last tab of MP config.

Noticed the other day, no mapping for 35 button remote in hauppauge xml file, only the 45 button, know that previously some people with 45 button remotes had problems without the 35 info being removed from the xml, so it looks like this was made permanent.
