Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. After reformatting and installing Windows 7 64-bit, and doing a fresh install of MediaPortal 1.0.2 (as well as an uninstall and reinstall of the 1.1.0 beta) I am encountering micro-stuttering/freezes/pauses in both MediaPortal client as well as the configuration panel. The TV server is not running on this computer as it has no TV tuners, rather I am connected to another TV server on the network. They occur completely randomly, at random 30 second or so intervals. I do not have any excess processes running and still encounter the problem even with many services disabled as well as only the bare minimum Windows processes running. I have also tried running both the client and config tool under various compatibility modes as well as disabling visual themes, with no luck.

I know Windows 7 is officially unsupported as of now, but other people have managed to get it running without problems and it does run fine except for these irritating pauses.

It doesn't manifest in the configuration tool until I access the plugins panel. My suspicion is that the TV plugin is responsible.

MediaPortal Version: 1.1.0 Beta & 1.0.2
MediaPortal Skin:
Windows Version: Windows 7 Ultimate SP2 64-bit
CPU Type: Intel E8500
HDD: Seagate SATA, Various
Memory: 4GB DDR2 PC1066
Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Video Card: Gigabyte GTX 260
Video Card Driver: 191.07

I had the same issue. I finally uninstalled everything, then re-installed beta 1.1 and re-tested the control panel after installing each the following add-ons: Tv-Series (standalone), StreamedMP (with bundled Moving Pictures). After all that the stuttering was gone.

I also updated to the latest SVN to solve the bug where Haali wasn't being closed so MP would crash when starting to play a second mkv.

Im also having problems with win 7 and freezing on the GUI only.

I uninstalled my nVidia drivers(latest 195 whql) from the nvidia website...which reverted back to some generic win7 nvidia driver...which no long gives me that issue!!

The freezing occurs in the MP GUI screens and in the config app for me.

I just had everything working in Vista nicely....heh
