I'd like with this thread get some considerations-issues about MP installed in VISTA.
_____________________________________________________________
My last impression is that with last SVN something strange is happening on configuration ad data files, sometime stored in ProgramData\TeamMediaPortal\MediaPortal folder and some other times stored in programfiles\TeamMediaPortal\MediaPortal.
With AUC enabled is quite impossible run an SVN upgrade without have problems after...
I tested it on two different vista installations.

In TVServer Engine with last TVENGINES (18-20-21 september) with about 3000 DVB-S channel stored (2 feeds) in DB, MP Setup interface take about 3 minutes to open. (single site config)
MyTV plugin, take 5-10 seconds to open and once opened I can only select a channel but if I change channel MyTv stops. I have to disable MyTv enable it again on the same channel to get it on.

Somebody else with similar problems in VISTA?

Unfortunately there seems to be a few programs that having UAC turned on during install (and after) that have ongoing problems.

The only surefire way i have found is when Vista first installed, activate the hidden administrator account.

Log into that on the first reboot, prior to installing any software and delete the original account.

You can rename the admin account to any name you like and will then, even if you have UAC turned on, have full access and no problems.

If you are running this as a HTPC only, then having UAC disabled anyway should not reduce your safety.

    thank you
To late, My vista is already installed so I can't activate the hidden administrator account
but I can leave UAC disabled,
is that enought to get last svn and TV engine working in VISTA?

    Hi,
Franky, have this in mind. When you install a svn the MediaPortalDirs.xml in MediaPortal folder it's overwritten & after that points to wrong folders, in XP the user folders are in the default MediaPortal folder, in Vista they are written in C:\Users\All Users\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder, so on Vista if you backup MediaPortalDirs.xml & past it back after the SVN update it should point correct again.

    Regards
    Roy
