Mediaportal recommended remote (4 Viewers)

I got this one from Amazon.com and it works great. Used LM Remote Key Map to do a few custom additional features and then transferred it over to my Harmony One. Took some playing around with but at the end it worked great. And for $16 shipped you cant beat it.

Hi all, I ended up buying the HP media center remote and it works great! I have set it up so that media portal opens with the green button using mptray too.

Only issue I have is how to close media portal with the remote. Is there anyway to do it? If I press the green button it goes to settings, and if I press the power button it puts the computer to sleep. Is there anyway to map the power button to just close medai portal and not put the pc to sleep? Or can I map another button on the remote to exit? Any help would be much appreciated! I am using MP 1.1.0 RC2 and XP Professional.

It depends a bit on the skin you are using. On the dedicated clients I usually shutdown. I'm using StreamedMP and press the green button to get to the basic home menu then the up button to get to the controls then the right button twice to select the power controls, then the down button to select shutdown and then the enter button.

Until I wrote this it never struck me how complicated this is .

It must be possible to program one key to to this all, either in the MP keymap or with LH Remote Keymap.

You only need to goto basichome, right arrow to select shutdown mode, still three keypresses needed

But then you could use either the sleep control or mysleeptimer plgins to exit\standby\shutdown MP after playback has finished (one keypress).

Why not use a RF remote like the one we are using here: CONCEPTRONIC CLLRCMCE MCE REMOTE CONTROL

Works great I use it with Eventghost to push the commands to MP

What happens if you have two MP clients with an RF remote in the house?
