What remote control do you like to use with your MediaPortal? I have XP SP2 and I'm thinking of getting one.
I don't have a tv tuner card so I don't have one that comes with a tuner card but I was wondering what kind of luck you have all had with your controller?

the cheapest and easiest solution for most is the MCE controller. It also comes with the transmitters so your PC can control other appliances as well.

In Australia it's around $70.

Yes, original Microsoft MCE remote, about 20,- to 25,- EUR in Germany

I bought a Winfast dtv 1000t hdtv digital tuner with remote that can duplicate all mce remote functions, and there is a plugin for media-portal that works great- all for $55 aus

I have tried several remotes for controlling my htpc config (MP, mce and sound/tv system). And the logitech Harmony remotes work very, very well.
Also have a look at the new Philips remotes (some of them come with an Ir receiver)

If it looks like this then you have no problems.

It will have "RC6" on the back as well.

The american one is identical layout, but no coloured teletext buttons.

Has anybody checked out any of the Logitech harmony remotes?
I'd love to have a controller that controls my computer AND the rest of my entertainment system and not have to actually just make one of my controllers learn the IR codes...
