alright heres the deal, this software looks awesome from what i seen from the screenshots, and thanks a lot for the great work. for me it just doesnt work tho i try to do the mediaportal wizard(startup) and i get the page where i give them information of my country and select what type of connection, and i put in United States and connection Cable the moment i press on scan it just closes.
i dont know what i can do to make it scan my channels?
is this a bug or am i missing something?

thanks

ps. i checked if this software supports my old tv tuner card and it says it does, so i can't find an explation why it doesnt let me scan for channels.

    sleepyyellow,

please simply skip the wizard with no changes to the end. (Do not scan within wizard).

After that, open setup and make up all necessary stuff in Television.

    Regards

One thing you have not mentioned is what your TV card is called.

    1. TV Card: ATI eHome

The setup wizard does not seem to work, at least not for the US ATSC signals. I just keep hitting enter and skip through it. Do all of the configuring in the MediaPortal setup program.

I actually had MP crash when scanning for channels in the MediaPortal Setup program (twice). But when I checked the channels, It had all of them listed.

If the guide that you are talking about is the Electronic Program Guide (EPG), that is handled seperately by a plugin. In the USA you should use Zap2it for your EPG data source, and the Zap2it plugin to populate the EPG with data.

The problem we (MP users in USA) have is that there is a limited number of MP developers from the USA to develop/debug/fix problems that only seem to exist in the USA.

ya i noticed but we already have so many different programs in the states.

i had one question tho to add, how do i get it to show all channels because now i got zap to work and in the zap guide it shows 76 channels in MP it shows 31 channels. if i use SageTV i get all 78 channels but the quality is really bad and it keeps hanging.

    thanks

I would go here and look (or search around in those threads - they are associated to the zap2it plugin. If you can't find a similar problem answered there then ask your question in that section to get a qualified answer from people who have gone through a similar problem.
