These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:
1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

    Is there a way to get more informations about the changes in the code?

    I mean, i dont know if this has something todo with the powerscheduler bug in vista posted here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mantis_bug_vista_power_off_button_remote-t33667.html?t=33667

    Hi,

    i still think exclusive directx is broken.
    For me it looks in the log that exclusive mode is switched some times from yes to no, being the last switch a no before the file gets loaded?

    Or am i missreading this?

    For sure is, that exclusive mode is not working, and i have bad tearing.

    Ok, now the good thing: after a fresh MP install DVD is working again, and while playing a DVD exclusive mode is working,
    its switched on right before the DVD starts as i expect it to do.
    Seem exclusive mode is broken for ts files for sure.

    Channel changes are much more stable and faster now! Upgraded from 16600.

    For some reason however, when watching TV, MP fails to find the ffdshow filter according to the log? It still works when watching movies from my videos though!

    My monitor now goes into sleep mode(after defined period in XP power settings) even while watching tv in full screen.

    No-one have seen or heard about this before? I will try a newer SVN a few days from now, but nothing else I've tried has worked. MP used ffdshow for live & recorded TV just fine prior to upgrading to 16993, and now it can't find the filter when building the graph. Yet, when watching movies (I think I have only tested with avi, but ffdshow is set to not limit by format nor application) it works just as good as before.

    Which of course is a let-down, TV picture quality felt close to HD when using ffdshow and now if feels close to analog SD :)
