    Hello!

    1. Crashes on channel change

I have a 100% reproducible crash on channel change on my system:

    Windows 7
MP V1.1 beta (with or without this latest SVN)
    CoreAVC 2.0 and EVR used
    XFX Geforce 9300

If CUDA acceleration is enabled in the CoreAVC decoder, MP crashes whenever I switch from a high definition interlaced (ASTRA HD) to a non-interlaced high definition channel(ARD HD), or other way around. The system is stable, if I press the Stop button before activating the new channel. Switching between channels of same picture format (either interlaced, or non interlaced) is no problem. With CUDA disabled, the problem is not occuring.

    Regards,
    --Alex

This sounds like something the team need to look into. However, we can't do this unless you post logs.

Please add the logs to your post, or I will delete it.

    1 )Try this : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ision-24975-rar-77368/index10.html#post575499

2 ) Keep discontinuities filtering "on", mostly when codec is pretty unstable.

    @skeal
thanks for the link - but the thread is long i wasn't able to find something useful - can you point me to something interesting?

sadly the only interesting thing is: ati + mscodec + hdtv = bad
so you have to use another codec for hd until MS fixes his codec

    Notes for testing
    -------------------

We are definitely getting close to RC1 now. There have been many changes in recent weeks, and there is no doubt that some of them will have 'broken' existing features.

We need your help in identifying and fixing these issues.

We have a couple of specific areas where a few reports have been made.

    1. Crashes on channel change
    ----------------------------------

The symptom seems to be that upon trying to change channel, mediaportal stops working, and a window is displayed to tell you this!

This problem is not easy to reproduce, but we need to know if this happens in single-seat, multi-seat or both. If it only happens in single-seat, we need logs from the client and server. It would be nice if we can find reliable steps which someone on the team can use to reproduce this.

    2. Crashes on skip steps (TV)
    ---------------------------------

There have been many improvements in this code in recent weeks, but unfortunately there are a few isolated reports of mediaportal crashing. The common factor here is possibly skip steps close to the live point. The comments above are all relevant here as well. Logs from client and server please.

Please could other developers add to this list as appropriate?

    Best wishes

    Mark

PS. Once again, a plea to keep this thread clean. If something that was a problem before is now fixed, we don't really need it posting here. However, if it is not fixed, please do post (with clean logs from this SVN - maybe something in the logs will be different). We don't need you to tell us that this is the best SVN ever - we certainly hope it is! And we don't need reports without logs - these will just be deleted.

"Crash on skip steps" is fixed (at least one cause). I could hope "Crashes on channel change" is also fixed.

I suppose people experimenting these issues have disable the discontinuities filtering feature.

I attach the new TsReader, but please, if a new abnormal behaviour happens ( normally no risk :)), create a separate thread for this.

    @Ambass
The Crashes on chnnel change is for me fixed:) and channel change is for me much faster.
    THX!

Re: Mp crashing in unknown pattern.

I think it's because LockMemoryImageTexture fails. And one of the reason it fails could be due to AllocResources is done in the rendering loop, so allocation has not been doen yet. Or maybe you are running out of gfx memory, so allocation is never done.

    Hi.

I saw there was another fix in svn today, but i'm sorry to say that it won't work wery well.
Mp won't crash anymore, but it works only once. When i use teletex one time and exit, then in second time
teletext shows, but it shows last page before exit and it won't accept any button presses or
it does not render any pages anymore.

    regards,

PS i'll revert teletext part into beginning of january to see if it works.

Yes, It only fixes the crash. The root problem is that textures are not freeded any more. So it's not a problem with teletext per see.

Will this mantis be reopened, it is closed now. ?

    Regards

    I'm desperate!:(

Live tv is not working the way it should. I have an Anysee E30TC tuner and followed the Exista manual on his blog.
This worked fine, but now I also added my analog tuner. (Hauppauge PVR500.)

If I switch on TV and select "Nederland 1 HD" (fta) it is working. But if I select a coded one, it gives a message telling:
UNABLE TO PLAY: LIVE4-0.TS.TSBUFFER even SD chanels give the same result. Selecting a analog chanel wil work, but takes a very long time to start. Zapping is out of the question. I stop the playing show before, but it still happens.

I tryed everything: Reinstal drivers/switching off plugins rerun manual and tips from Exista.

Can someone look at my logs and tell me what is wrong?
System spec's are up to date! (only the anysee driver is older in the logs but that make no differance to the problem)

    Help!

Sorry I know this is not a bug report but might be useful to others :sorry:

sadly the only interesting thing is: ati + mscodec + hdtv = bad
so you have to use another codec for hd until MS fixes his codec

I believe MS are now owning up here
and I have a feeling that the ATI 10.2 beta drivers are meant to help with this

(do not have an ATI card but have seen many threads on this)

On this note, I have a different problem with the workaround (use software only codec for HDTV). My MP is set up with MS codec for MPEG2, and CoreAVC for MPEG4.

If I start on a HDTV channel its working as intended with CoreAVC. But zap to a MPEG2 channel and back to the MPEG4, and its suddenly using MS codec for HDTV.

This happens everytime, so I can generate logs if needed.

But keep up with the good work, 1.1 is looking very good by now.

    Hello,

hope the post is at the correct location here.

Also in this Version my problem of long zapping time (~ 15 sec.) betweeen SD/HD or HD/HD still exists.

The only HD Channel which comes up within ~3 sec. is EinsFestival HD
Switching to arte HD, takes ~ 15 sec.
back to EinsFestival HD ~3 sec.

With linux vdr (on the same machine installed) always ~3 sec.
Windows Media Center also ~ 3 sec.

So it cannot depend on the Hardware .

    Nobody a solution ?

    tv server log attached.

Thanks for this link - sadly there is no hint or solution posted. I've already tried ATI 10.2 RC2 release but it does not help.

Just like with the previous SVN, Mediaportal keeps setting process priority to real time, regardless of which option I select in MP config. I didn't have this problem before.

Even after a reinstall today it's still occuring. Here are the logs of my last run where I ctrl+alt+del'ed myself out of MP (which took a looooong time :p). Also included is my Mediaportal.xml, which could be useful too.
