MP totally failed to record Being Human on BBC3 22:30-23:30 tonight, despite it being marked red in the Guide.

The problem appears to be that MP marks things Red in the Guide that it has no intention of recording!

For instance, if I set a programme to record at the same time every Sunday, MP will mark all episodes of that programme as Red in the Guide, despite the fact that it will only record the ones at the specified time on a Sunday.

Don't know if this is related to this svn but since I'm testing my new (clean) system (intel i3) and this svn was the first thing I installed I'm posting here.

The dynamic refreshrate changer doesn't play well with the integrated graphics on the i3. The change results either to a crash or horribly disfigured desktop and mediaportal behaving insanely.

When I disable drc and set a refreshrate manually and play just about anything, it works (except for the wrong refreshrate, of course).

Does anyone else with an i3 experience this?

Well this is really odd. I've tried all zoom/aspect modes and none help the problem. Any MKVs with the 'Original Display Aspect Ratio' flag play like this in MediaPortal, any without are fine. Its not actually an option in MKV muxing, It seems to be in the stream straight from the DVD...

Any how, whats your setup for playback elliot? Im using latest MediaPortal SVN, latest SAF (beta 23 test 5), PowerDVD 9 codecs.

BTWhe windowed screenshot displays how the video looks in fullscreen aswell. I havn't just resized the window poorly or something!

Run graphstudio while playing one of your mkvs in MP. Connect to remote graph & see what MP's using. Check to see what changes if you pick a different decoder in MP, and what stays the same.

MPC & VLC are not directshow based (by default), so they aren't helpful in tracking down a codec problem.

    SOLVED:

If you have 'CyberLink Video Decoder (PDVD9)' selected under H.264 Video decoder it uses it to decode MPEG2 video from MKV files, even if 'CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD9)' is selected under MPEG-2 Video Decoder.

Changing the H.264 decoder to MPC or other decoder solves the stretching issue. It doesn't seem to affect it if 'CyberLink Video Decoder' is selected in any TV Codecs for H.264. Presumably it only applies to .ts files. Why The CyberLink decoder overrides my selected MPEG-2 codec i'm not sure...?

Sorry about all the posts but it was driving me mad!

    Hi Ambass,

I exchanged the TsReader.ax with the new one and set the option "Don't drop discontinued packets in TsReader". Is this the option you meant?

Apparently the behaviour is the same and it's still crashing. See attached logs, that I made with the new TsReader.

Usecase was starting with the channel "Anixe HD". Then I switched to "Das Erste - ARD HD". Then the windows dialog was appearing, that said: "MediaPortal is not working anymore", so Media Portal crashed.

Switching off "Cuda" in the CoreAVC still is a workaround, but I have to set Deinterlacing to "None(Weave)", otherwise it happens, that the interlaced channels look broken, like in the attached picture.

    Regards,
    --Alex

Ambass : new tsreader has stopped the client crashes for me - thank you.

Also - FYI - you are right about the "Don't drop discontinued packets ..." option. With this unset the old tsreader doesn't crash either.

I see that too. I have set my MP record our local news every evening at 19.00 (advanced recording, every day at this time) but in my EPG all programmes with the same title ("Nyhederne") is marked as red. But it does only record the ones I want. Weird :)

Then again, I have seen this for as long as I remember...

I might not have come across this bug until now simply because I've never set a repeat recording before. It's disappointing if it's been around for a while and no-one's seen fit to fix it, as it gives the impression something is going to be recorded when it's not, which doesn't reflect well on MP. Hopefully this will get fixed before RC1.

Hey Guys, new tester here, had everything working great but recently installed latest SVN - keeps hanging now. Hangs on it's own without any action, when closing TV in MP, returning from a movie etc. etc.

    Logs attached

    Cheers

As first step please disable all 3rd party plugins. At least VideoConvertorTVE3 seems to have some issues based on the logs.
