I was trying to get comskip working in version: 1.1.0.0.
It had all been working well.
I was looking in tv server configuration.
There was a options in networks set to auto or ip adress 169.254.54.23.
I changed it and broke the server.
I wont let me open the server configuration to reset to auto.
I reinstalled mediaportal and mediaportal tv server but the tvserver wont start.
it says please specify ip address or hostname.
Nothing I do fixes it.
Help please

I think the second reinstall got it.Well see.

I reinstalled everything again and got it working and it broke again.
I locks up my puter on startup so I had to get into safe mode and MSCONFIG
and un check TV SERVER in services to get back in windows.

    Hi ziton,

There seems to be something wrong with your networkconfig. A 169.x.x.x is an address that is assigned to an adapter that is not able to get one from a dhcp server.
Apparently you have configured this system to automatically get an ip address from a dhcp server (probably a router) or it had a fixed address and the setting has been changed and you don't have a device that distributes ip addresses.

    Hope this helps some,

Yep, Peter2 is right. Sounds like you're configured for DHCP access but you've not actually got any devices on your network that can provide an IP address.

You either need to configure a fixed IP for that network card, or if you're not actually connecting it to a network, the loopback adapter would be the way to go - instructions here.

    Cheers,
    Craig

    I'm using HDHomeRun Dual tuner.
    Its still working right.
    I'm trying another clean install.
The problem I'm having is the tvserver freezes the computer.
I can't get into the configuration to solve it.
The tvserver doesn't come up in safe mode.
When I last did a clean install the setting for network were back at AUTO.
But the computer just freezes mouse wont work.
