I was running MediaPortal the other day on my gaming/media PC and just out of curiosity, I decided to run TCPView in the background and have a look to see what was happening. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the TV Server Process was receiving data from... somewhere. Buckets and Buckets of data. The number for the column "Rcvd Bytes" in TCPView was rising, and rising, and rising...
Is that just the Mediaportal Client/Server at work (both local and remote address are "david-pc-home"; I'm running a single-seat system and not streaming anything) or is Mediaportal actually scarfing up gobs and gobs of data via my Broadband Internet. If it's just the internal client/server connection then that's understandable, but if it's actually using my Internet constantly then we have a serious problem! I have metered internet and if Mediaporta's chewing up all my data...
Oh, dear...
It probably is the internal client/server connection, but I just thought I'd check with someone here.
Thanks.
Update: Gah... I think it is the internal client/server *facepalm* as I checked my Network Adapter via task manager. No network activity except when I tested it with a web page... *double facepalm*
