mediaportal will not start (1 Viewer)

Hi there,
If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated....
For what appears to be no reason, media portal will no longer start, crashing a few seconds after double clicking on the icon and displaying a microsoft report error prompt. The same happens when I try to start the mediaportal config program. I have uninstalled and re-installed the stable release that i am using but to no effect. no changes where made to the computer (i.e. programs added/removed) before the crash for a period of some weeks. i

'm stumped as to what it could be. needless to say i am frustrated that i cannot access my recordings!

Look in your logs to see if there's an error. Also what does the ms error report say (if it does)?
