Well I cant get it to recognise my card, the prog looks great just what I have been looking for.

I have read and my card is apparently supported, I have uninstalled my Hauppauge driver and updated off the website.

uninstalled mp and re-installed, and it still wont recognise my card.

I understand that there may be an xml with control settings iI might need (if so where can I get it?).

I'm using

xp with sp2

Hauppauge Nova-t dvb pci card (one with phillips tuner).

If you need any more infoe, please tell me how I can find the information out, thanks.

I really hope I can get it working or I will have to have scour for a"another" prog.

Thanks for any help in advance.

:confused:

Is it a '9002' pci card or the older card ? When did you buy it ? All Hauppague Nova-Ts bought within the last year should be 9002s...

I have 2 Nova-Ts running (well I did until it died see thread on dead HTPC) unter 2.0.4 just fine...

9002 uses the follows in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml

<capturecard commercialname="Hauppauge Nova-T" capturename="Hauppauge WinTV 88x TS Capture" devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_90020070&rev_05">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/>
<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider" checkdevice="false"/>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod" checkdevice="true"/>
<filter cat="capture" name="Hauppauge WinTV 88x TS Capture" checkdevice="true"/>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice" sinkpin="0"/>
<connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"/>
</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

i have took the card out of my pc.

it has phillips chips with the code saa7146ah on the bigger one. the card itself is a browny yellow colour.

I'm using the latest version of mp from the downloads section.

the driver im using is hauupauge wintv nova adapter 2.5.0.2

When I put that txt in my definitions xml do i need to adjust add anything else to make it be recognised?

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I put that xml in place of the one in the program folder and it still wont recognise my card.

the card works with other apps like showshifter, wintv etc.

Any ideas?

Checked it and it works perfectly here with my latest sources/files. Must be something different (obviously some local problem) then.

you sure you have the correct drivers installed ?

as i said, and mPod also, it works fine here.. so there is an issue with your config/system
