Mediaportal.xml missing (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3.0

Hi everyone.
I have a weird problem. When I install mp, the file Mediaportal.xml is nowhere to find.
When trying to get DVB subtitles to work, this thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/new_dvb_subtitle_filter_tsreader_based-t25838.html tells me to write a string into Mediaportal.xml
MP doesn't complain over the missing file, and appearently the program works without problems.

I have tried to reinstall MP several times, but everytime with same result


For testing I installed MP on my laptop (XP) and guess what. Here I find mediaportal.xml
It's the very same install file.

Does anyone have a clue on what going on?

Are you using Windows Vista? MediaPortal saves the configuration files in different folder when running under Vista. Try searching the whole HD for Mediaportal.xml (unfortunately I cannot remember where it's stored under Vista... )

c\program data\ (hidden folder you need to enable "show hidden folders")\teammediaportal\mediaportal, all your settings should be in there, only if you have UAC (user Account Control) switched off, and believe me, you do need to switch off, otherwise you will be running around in circles trying to find your problem, and also no settings are consistant.

You were right! I found Mediaportal.xml on this location:

c:\programdata\team mediaportal\mediaportal
