MediaSlayer - CD and DVD HD ripping tool (1 Viewer)

I know there are some issues with the image grabber issue for DVD's, too. I think it is MP, though and not media-slayer. I ripped Spiderman yesterday with media slayer, and the only cover art that comes back is for spiderman 3, not the original spiderman. it only pulled back 11 covers for this as well. So I think that the scraper, or something is broken there. Does anyone know if there is a scraper script for tmdb yet anywhere?

Ok, I found an issue. I have tried this procedure with 3 different skins including Blue 3 Wide and get the same results.

I am using the Microsoft lookup or dvd title (reg hack config in first post).

I do not have it set to download cover art becasue I am starting to use My Movies plugin for movies, though changing this setting does not affect the issue I have.

I do not have the box checked in MP config to keep MP always on top, either. It just hit me that this may be it, but not positivem and I don't think so. I am going to try that, though.

I am in media slayer, I insert a disc and media slayer pops up the question asking if I want to start ripping. I say yes. I then asks if the movie name it pulls is what I want to use. If I say NO so I can change the movie title, the Virtual Keyboard never pops up to allow me to type in a new title. Media Slayer is then lost and I can't do anything. I have to CTRL ALT DEL and kill the MP process to get out. Not a good solution.

Also, I have another issue that I don't know what to do about. If I start ripping a movie, and switch the inputs on my TV away from the PC and over to my Cable Tuner, if the movie is done ripping when I switch the input BACK to the PC, the notification is up for me to click OK about the movie being done ripping, but that notification window is not the focus, so I can't click OK. I can do anyting else, withing MP, but that notification window stays up all the time.

As a configuration option, it would be nice to have the option to not see ANY notifications (except errors). If I am ripping a movie, then go do other things in MP, I find it annoying to have a notification pop up in the middle of what I am doing or watching.

Any help on these would be great.

I will change those popups to be shown only in MediaSlayer, now those are shown in active window. Virtual kb should work. What version you are using (MP & MS)?

MP: 1.1.0 beta with no SVN

MS: Win 7

The wierd thing with the Virtual keyboard is that if I select NO with the pop up that comes up when you insert a disc, then select rip disc frmo the menu on the left side, it all works great. but if I select Yes from that prompt, it does not work.

Also, having the box checked to keep MP always on top did not help, either... didn't think it would, but it was worth a shot...

I have another issue I just discovered... I can't rip a CD??? It goes through all the motions, but nothing ever rips. no files show up. I get no errors, either. Swithing to get cover art did nothing to help that either...

Also, it would be nice to be able to specify to get coverart and other information separately for DVD and CD. I want it on CD, but not DVD, and I don't want to have to use the advanced gui to do that and manually swith it..

Uhm... what is deleted? I haven't delete anything and also can't find any deleted messages from this thread.

I don't know what that error is and where it is coming from. Without logs all quesses are equal: DD = dolby digital?!? Heh. But seriously we are not meedios here.

There is suitable solution how to handle covers via advanced gui and will not make any changes regarding to those or any popups etc. Plugin is what it is currently - only bugs will be fixed. Hope you all will understand.

And one note: I hope you all know that you can (and should) update IMDB etc. scrapers via MP config tool to overcome media info, covers etc. problems.

I was able to produce the same and it is now in Mantis and will be fixed.

Also, I removed the config section out of the xml for this plugin, re-did the config, and it started being able to rip CD's.

I can confirm DVD artwork as an issue. I have updated my IMDB Scraper from with in MediaPortal Config and still get the wrong images. Using MP1.02 Windows Vista..
