Hi Medion owners.

I have a MD-880x and had stutter problems too. Just browsed for updates and there were for the NVidia card, the X10 remote-control, the philips tv-card, the philips tv-tuner and Intel busmaster.

I now don't have any stuttering anymore (wel.. almost to nothing).

Go to : http://www.medion.com
Select : "Service and support" at the top in your language
Select : "Drivers and updates" at the left

Fill in your serialnumber that can be found at the back. Don't bother to use the other search options because those WILL NOT return the required updates!

I'll test this tonight for you.

Have you installed the latest X10 drivers from the Medion site?

So the button pressed event doubles the times the system has been in standby.

So I will do this:
Start Windows
Start Media Portal;
Use the X10 remote
Go to stand-by and resume
Use the X10 remote (should now be 2 events)
Go to stand-by and resume
Use the X10 remote (should now be 4 events)
Go to stand-by and resume
Use the X10 remote (should now be 8 events)

What is you do this :

Start Windows
Start Media Portal
Use the X10 remote
Stop Media Portal
Go to stand-by and resume
Start Media Portal
Use the X10 remote
Stop Media Portal
Go to stand-by and resume
Start Media Portal
Use the X10 remote
Stop Media Portal
Go to stand-by and resume

Do you have the same behaviour as in the first scenario? If not.. then it is probably a Media Portal issue if it is then it is probably the X10 drivers causing errors.

Hi Exyll

I would much appreciate it if you could try this. My problem is definatley the first scenario. I tried the second scenario and that is fine. Basically, if I put my PC into standby or hibenation while MP is running, even if it is minimized, I get the problem. I have to close MP down completely and restart to cure the problem. I could not find any update drivers for the X10 remote on the Medion site. I am using Driver version 3.0.0.187. I believe I have updated all the drivers for my PC from the Medion site. Look forward to your results. This problem has been really bugging me, if you will excuse the pun :)

The X10 drivers I downloaded are from 12.03.2006 (DD-MM-YYYY).

I don't see a version number mentioned on their site. The download link I got is:

The version number mentioned in the hardware manager is 3.0.0.187 so it's the same as yours.

I've tried the scenerio but it seems the latest nvidia drivers broke the resume from standby/hibernate on my system for the s-video out. And that is the only display periphal connected at the moment :-(

So I'm currently not able to try reproduce your report.

Hi Exyll

The X10 driver doesn't seem to be on the UK site. As you said it seems to be the same driver as I'm using anyway. I've had lots of problems going in and out of standby with various CVS's, but seems OK at the moment. If you do manage to test, I would appreciate your results to see if it's a bug or my machine. Thanks.

I've now tested this issue with the latest nvidia forceware drivers from the nvidia site. The X10 driver version stays the same.

This IS a bug in MP as I have the same behaviour as you do.

I have saved the logfiles.

Thank you for testing this. As you know from my link I posted this bug a few weeks ago on the RC2 bug reports forum but has not been confirmed or actioned upon. As this bug has been carried through to RC3 I'll post a bug report on the RC3 forum later tonight or tomorrow. Do you know who can confirm bugs on the bug forum? Hopefully this will be sorted soon.

EDIT: No sooner said than done :D All seems fine with th latest SVNs
