Hey,

when I just turned on Mediaportal it brought me to an "empty" BasicHome screen. The background image and the menu background are there, but no menu items and no fonts (not even the current time or the rss feed news).
I thought my skin files got corrupted (using streamedMP), so I reinstalled the skin and still have the same problem.

When I try to get into one menu option (tv serien for example) I just get a black screen.

The error log is spammed all over with one message:

Does this mean my memory (ram) is defect? Or is this something software related which can be fixed?

There's some skin changes involved, try it with Blue3Wide and you should find it will work.

So ALL the skins need to be updated for this svn.

thanks for the answer, it's comforting that it is not my hardware Blue3 works ... but the strange thing for me is that I didn't update MediaPortal or the skin and the morning before it worked perfectly?

Are you using your mouse? Your description sounds like the known problem some skins have when mouse movement cause the menu to loose focus. Leave the mouse and press keyboard/remote arrows should show menu items again.

Yeah, I actually posted before reading your full report. The mouse movement problem does not create that log entry.

No problem.
It's just weird that this error appeared out of nowhere (in the morning it works, in the evening not?) and that it's only present in the streamedMP skin.
Blue3 works. A redownload and install of the skin / recreation of the basichome.xml doesn't help ... Sigh, very mysterious ^^

Maybe you were using Minimize to tray? I get these errors when I use it with my Vista setup with Nvidia GPU.

No I am not using minimize to tray. And I have xp with an ATi gpu
But it hasn't happened again anyway.
