Hi mPod, he was referring to the TV Engine. I guess it makes sense that the new TV engine may impact on the operation of the blasters when it comes to STB, although I doubt it would. I guess it is best to wait on changing code, just to be safe.

    MyRemote

    Hi there,

thanks for all the answers. Im dreaming of a MyRemote Plugin, that appears on a corner of the mp-screen whereever i am inside mp (green button ?). From there i want to choose and control all of my external boxes (including X10). The ir-commands and the remote-design for each box should be stored in some files, which users can exchange or add to a free library.

In the past i did some programming in VB and Delphi. Unfortunatly i have absolutly no experience in C#. So i bought a big book, and started study it :)

I hope i can (based on the code of smirnuff) realise that. Any proposals and help is very welcome  .

    regards,

    Ned

I'm think that a better option would be to not use the MyBlaster code at all for such a project...

BurningZeRoad, a member of thegreenbutton.com community, went a whole lot further with his support of the blaster than I ever did to the point that his code fully understands the most common remote protocols (RC5, RC6 etc) and as such allows you to use the remote codes that you can download from sites like remotecentral.com.

BZR's code and binaries are freely available for download (see the huge Making MCE IR blaster universal on thegreenbutton.com forums). We have spoken in the past and I have an e-mail giving me permission to reuse his code or borrow from it for MP purposes, out of courtesy an e-mail from whoever else wishes to utilize his code would be nice. Perhaps its time to wrap his C code up into a C# friendly DLL and retire the MyBlaster code? scoop, what are your views on this?

BZR's code is also the basis of the blaster support offered by HIP if I'm not mistaken?!?!
