Hey wow, that's awesome! You're welcome. Now as someone put it to me when they came through with help on one of my issues, community support works. Pay it forward!

So it seems for the time being at least you are using WMC, as a MP newbie and one who is straddling the fence between MP and WMC, what's that about ?

Probably doing like I did when switching from media center.. Wanted to have both while I set things up, tested it out and made sure that it could do everything MCE could do... And so much more! Me personally, within a week I completely removed media center and My Movies in favor of MP with moving pictures and mp-tvseries.

Hope you get off that fence ok ;)

    Thanks Steve,
I feel real positive about MP, it fixed a WMC video codec problem that I struggled with alot. For that alone it is pretty "Huge". There is a lot of promise here, and I can see alot of support from the community. I feel like it's a clinic that I get to watch in open source development. I also feel the information in the Wiki and forums is true and accurate, when one persists. The clues I tried to follow with WMC seemed riddled with mythology and half truths. I do have a few MP itches that I haven't been able to scratch yet, I do expect they'll get worked out when I find the time and the Family Approval Factor will allow me the time I need on the entertainment rig. Having an easier configuration would be a big boom. Having a channel scan available from the MP Gui, or in the first setup program seems like a good goal. I can imagine that a lot of of first timers might bail when they can't view the live TV/Cable/Sat when MP comes out of the box. MP2 sounds exciting, but for my taste that's a little closer to the frontier than I'm confortable with.

    See you around ... Tony

Yeah I know where you're coming from and I do have to agree, the Live TV / Recording setup is by far the most difficult part to grasp at first. Once you get through it successfully it'll click and it's a breeze from there. I think a live tv setup wizard would be a huge step forward.

As for the more simple MediaPortal configuration, I know there are some things happening in Area 51 for an improved configuration interface. One of the developers are working to migrate most the of settings to the GUI instead of just in the configuration application. If you want to see this keep moving ahead, definitely give your feedback and let them know!

    Help .
Bought my self a small form factor computer to basically fit my rack and act as a Music store / PVR I added a TBS 8920 S2 and downloaded and Media Portal and after configuring initially bliss.
Then one morning I decided to search the channels to check for up dates. As this was going on an iTunes up date became available so absent mindedly I clicked on it.

So now I cant get TV tried reloading media portal a couple of times no avail. Windows media centre no longer works either. Though hardware manger tells me my hardware is installed and working properly which I take with a pinch of salt .

    Any pointers?
