Hi

Is there any way around having to install SP3.
I cant run SP3 because newer versions of USBEHCI.SYS (which come in SP2 & SP3) cause my NovaT 500 to BSOD - This is a known issue which according to hauppauge requires a fix from MS. In SP2 I can replace this file with an older version but I dont think this is possible with SP3.

I will have some free time in a couple of weeks and was looking forward to upgrading my install of MP RC4 to the latest version. I really dont want to have to go to Vista in order to do this :(

cheers

I have no solution for you but maybe something to think about (change your mind about using vista especially with this TV card)

I think I had exactly the same (and later some more and some other) problems with my NovaT 500 and XP SP2/3.
As the USBEHCI.SYS problem iirc only occurs with the old 99xx version of the NovaT 500 cards I really have my doubts that M$ will ever (or some day soon) fix it. I waited for so long...

And you are right you can't just change the USBEHCI.SYS when you are using SP3. That doesn't work.

In the end I tried Vista 32 bit SP1 with MP 1.0.1.
Although I don't really like Vista it I was surprised how flawlessly the card now runs with it.
Also hibernate and wake up etc. was no longer a problem for me with this card.

So atm I'm happy that I tried it and finally changed the OS.
