    Hi,

I've just experienced a problem with starting up MediaPortal after Minecraft has been shut down on my HPTC. My kids were playing Minecraft and "had a glitch" so they closed it down, I was not there so don't know what they did unfortunately . Now MediaPortal and MediaPortal configurator will not start, TV server is running fine however.

I suspect some file corruption somewhere, but can't work it out. Does anyone have an idea please?

    Regards

    David

    Hello David

Your suspicion is right. MediaPortal.xml - the main MediaPortal configuration file - is completely corrupted. Unfortunately it looks like the backup is corrupted too.

To fix, open Windows Explorer and paste "c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal" into the address bar. In that folder, delete MediaPortal.xml. If there is a non-corrupt MediaPortal.xml.bak file then you could try to rename it to MediaPortal.xml. Otherwise, you're going to have to configure MediaPortal again.

    Regards,
    mm

    Hi mm

I restored the files from my daily backup and it now works fine.

Thank you for your prompt reply, much appreciated.

    Regards

    David
