But it's a hassle unless you're building for really small places e.g. cars etc.  For example why buy a board like the Jetway JNC81 and not a mini-atx that's built for speed and not for comfort?  On the other hand if you're thinking about pico-nano then it's really a bad idea as you'd spend a lot of money for a board whose equivalent in mini-atx would cost less than 30$.
