Missing DVB subs and cannot view HDTV (1 Viewer)

I am pretty new to Mediaportal and the main reason I shiftet from Vista Media Center to Mediaportal was the support for subtitles in DVB channels and the support for HDTV. But I cant seem to get it to work.

First of all I cannot watch the HDTV channels. There is sound but the image freezes. It looks like a codec problem, but I have tried with CoreAVC and ffdshow with no luck. It works in FireDTV Viewer with CoreAVC, so I am a little clueless why it doesnt work in MP.

The second thing is that I dont have any subtitles in DVB channels, despite I have enabled DVB subtitles and choosen my language in the MP config tool.
I also hear several languages spooken in e.g. National Geographics.

So, to my disapointment, I have installed a new Mediacenter software (MP) but with all the same drawbacks as in WMC.

Can someone please help ... because I really like to give MP a fair shot.

I have now made a clean install of Windows Vista, installed Vista Codec Package, CoreAVC, and Mediaportal 1.0, and I can still not view the HD Channels. There is sound but black screen. I tried using ffsshow and CoreAVC for H.264, but without luck.

Please anyone? Its the last tiny issue I need to get rid of the fully enjoy MP

Same problem with my htpc, I think that the signal is not sufficient to decode all HD data. My DVB card is a quite old (Cinergy 1400). SD channels also are not always shown.

Are you sure that you are using the correct CA Module. Not all CAM's can show HD content and the sideeffect will typically be like yours.

According to subs try to turn on both DVB sub and teletext in your configuration.
