Hi again Rob
I believe the file is out of date having done a generic UK scan and also looked at the local transmission frequencies here Freeview on Emley Moor TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
We rely very much on our users to keep our tuning details up-to-date. It is understandable that the current parameters are inaccurate as I understand that parts of the UK are going through ASO/DSO or at least having frequencies shuffled around. We'd really appreciate it if you were able to post the correct details over -->here<--.
It shouldn't be a problem. Have you remembered that some UK frequencies have a 167 kHz offset? The HD channels are being broadcast but the site says the signal is low. I wouldn't have thought this is a problem because Media Center manages OK.
It would probably be advisable to have a read of this thread (in particular, read this). Finding the right information is not hard if you know where to look. The short and sweet summary is that you'll need to use specific audio codecs to get the audio to work. Either the Mainconcept or DivX AAC decoders are required. After doing the generic scan, the HD channels are now in my EPG but don't work properly (no sound).
The EPG is compressed to deliberately prevent applications like MP from accessing it. BBC licenses the information that is required to decompress it to applications that agree to adhere to the restrictions around content use and especially recording. MP does not have a hope of enforcing those restrictions since our code is open source. Not only that, if we got the info from the BBC, others would just be able to take it from our code (which probably wouldn't be okay with the BBC). You'll need to use XMLTV as mentioned in the post that I linked above...The EPG is also gobbledegook for these channels. So I'm a bit stuck and still rely on Media Center instead of MediaPortal for HD channels.
