    Synopsis:
I instaled MP yesterday and it worked first time.

    Then it stopped!

I have no My TV section on the first menu.

My cards show up in setup and appear to be able to scan for chanels.

It stopped working when I started messing with the settings of my cards in an attempt to work out recording at the same time as viewing another channel.

Uninstall/re-install does not work and I can't think why I would simply have no My TV button.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Chris

That's where my money is too. Check your plugins.

Even if your tv card setup is totally screwed, the button will still show up. The only way I know of to hide the button is to disable the plugin.

Also, take a look in the tips and tricks forum for info on using two digital cards at the same time.

There is a known bug in XP that stops this from working. The bug is fixed in Win MCE but not XP. A cycnical person would think that maybe this was the MS way to eliminate the competition. Luckilly there is a workaround :)

    Thanks!

So I had accidentally unplugged the plugin, don't I feel silly?!

Anyway, now I can attempt to fix the other problems that I am having.

May post again soon with more silly questions.

    Thanks again,
    Chris

there's no such thing as silly questions, only stupid people ;-)

Don't worry, that would have stumped a lot of noobs and probably quite a lot of old MPers.

Now go check out the fix for dual cards I told you about...

    Hi,

I already did the patched MCE files :D

I noticed the difference in power Cinema, both cards now show a signal level.

Couldn't really get my head around how to use 3 recievers at the same time in MP. In PowerCinema, I could choose the current card and set schedule, then choose the next and so on.

I just really love functionality and sensible layout of this software. But Sooooo hard to set up.

Now I have trouble with changing aspect ratio: In all but the first setting, on full screen the picture is black, although overlays etc are still working. Exit full screen and everything is OK again. Wasn't doing that before!

Anyway, I found no reference to this so far on the forum, so probably another one of my own!

How do you use 2 (or more) cards together????

    Thanks,
    Chris

two or more cards are really simple.

In the configuation, make sure they all have different priorities (otherwise MP can *sometimes* get mixed up).

Then simply tell it what you want to record and it will manage the cards and which records what.

If you have some cards that only receive certain channels or something like that, then you have to assign those cards to the channels manually in the channels section. This happens automatically when you auto tune, so it's rare to need to do that.

It would be kind of nice if you could choose which card did what, but doesn't really matter and would make recording more complicated.

    RayformallyfromBellinghamleftatage7.

And also do not forget to combine channels in MPconfig/tv/channels.

    Best Wishes

    Hi,

Thanks for responces. This really is the most supportive community.

Ray, you lived on the other side of the tracks? :p

Found a fix in the forum for the blank screen. Seems there is an issue with changing windows font sizes and as I am viewing on a plazma screen, I can't change it back.

Must always start in windowed mode and Ctrl Enter to go to full screen. Then all aspect ratio displays work in full screen.

Anyway, thanks for all your helps!

    Chris

I don't really understand the blank screen problem. I run MP on a plasma in full screen mode with no issues.

Can you explain a bit further?
ie, do you have these problems when you first start MP or when you first play a fullscreen video?
