Did a windows update, and it began to work.

You don't use the right version of the dll. If you have MP v0.2.2 stable version use the stabe version of MyFilms otherwise use the SVN version.

I had the same trouble - all skins reporting the problem.

I tracked it down to some broken plugins. Specifically the ones that give errors when you try to enable/disable or change settings for. In my case it was myDailyCartoons, Autostart and MyMinesweeper (prob just one of them). Try disabling / deleting these ones and you will probably find the problem dissappears.
