I'm just starting to try out MP2.1.1 and am having difficulty understanding the way that MP2 organises media. I have been using MP1 for a considerable time and perhaps my problem is that MP2 is different in how it stores and displays media. Anyway my particular issue at the moment is that I cannot seem to have a distinct "folder" or area for displaying my TV recordings. If I import other media files etc into MP2 they are all displayed together and my TV recordings are lost in the myriad of other files. Am I just missing something in how I'm organising my media or is this consolidation of all files into the same display area by design? My setup is a simple single seat configuration. I'm continuing to use MP1.17 and will experiment with MP2 when I get the time.

    Hi.
When you enter the "TV" section of MP2 you will see an item "Recordings". There you will find all your recordings as long as the corresponding xml file is existing (same as in MP1). Aside this you also can use/import WMC recordings (.dvr.ms or .wtv) here, not possible in MP1 afaik. The recordings folder ( s ) are added as media source automatically as soon as you first time start (and exit) the TV configuration tool (practically the same tool as in MP1)...

Paraphrasing the above a little bit:
    • TV recordings are automatically imported as per the folder definitions that you set in the TV Configuration. These imported files are then visible in the TV section under Recordings
    • You should not manually add any TV recording folder or you'll see your TV shows then merged into the movie or series folders, yielding exactly what you described in your posting.

Also you could create a new folder called MP2 New Recordings & point your mp2 recordings to that folder. You do that via the TV configuration tool for MP2 on your desktop. Much the same as MP1
